![]() ![]() Pastor's PenWriting can lead to liberation and ... incarceration. Martin Luther's 95 Theses got him kicked out of the church, but they opened the door for a fresh encounter with God's Spirit for many others. Deitrich Bonhoffer's letters led him to a Nazi prison, but they helped others escape idolatry. Pastors enter into this risky behavior to warn the sheep about the whereabouts of the wolves. With the advent of the Internet the wolves are one click away. The sheep can google themselves into all sorts of tomfoolery or they can find green pastures and still waters.
This Pastor's Pen link is meant to provide the latter. It is hoped that these sermons, articles, books, and quips will provide spiritual nourishment for your soul, theological guidance for your mind, and encouragement for your heart.
In this "Pastor's Pen" link you will find the following:
Selected Sermons: Recent sermons preached at Yates. Selected Bible Studies: Recent Bible studies from Prayer, Praise and Proclamation
Newsletter Articles: Archived newsletter articles in the Yates Messenger. What I'm Reading: A list of current books I'm reading with an occasional book review and recommendation. This and That: Occasionally I will have a thought, idea, or commentary on the church, denominational life, contemporary culture, or the joys of living with four females. I'll write and invite you to worship, pray, think, laugh, cry, and celebrate with me. |
