Senior Adults

Senior adult class members are known for their caring, loving and encouraging spirits and a deep desire to continue in their Christian growth.  Outside of Sunday mornings, members focus their energy on ministering to each other in friendship and in times of special needs.  Classes are also active in supporting ministries such as the Interfaith Hospitality Network, Genesis House, and the Durham Rescue Mission.

Senior adults and interested others have the opportunity to travel on day trips almost every month.  Seniors visit and experience a wide variety of places and attractions, including musical shows, historic sites, places to eat and museums.  One multi-night trip is also scheduled each year.  Places visited include areas such as Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Myrtle Beach.  Two lunch fellowships are also scheduled which are Prime Time, an event for all Durham area Baptist senior adults, and either a fall or spring luncheon at the church.

Our Senior Opportunity for Activity and Recreation (SOAR) events, which are on the last Tuesdays of most months, provide further opportunities for fellowship, fun, learning and service for all senior adults.
